Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Moka pot make espresso?
No. The moka pot does not prepare espresso in the technical sense. However, it makes a strong, concentrated, and intense coffee. Due to the high water-to-coffee ratio of approximately 1:10, it is often compared to espresso. Therefore, many call the moka pot an "espresso maker." With espresso, however, the ratio is significantly higher, at approximately 1:2. The moka pot is therefore somewhere between filter coffee and espresso.
Which grind size is suitable?
We recommend a fine grind, roughly like table salt, tending slightly finer. However, nowhere near as fine as for an espresso, which is more comparable to powdered sugar.
Can I use them on any stove?
This Moka pot is not suitable for induction cooktops because it is made of aluminum. However, it can be made usable for induction cooktops by placing an induction plate on the hob and then placing the Moka pot on this plate.
