Perhaps this isn't the end of Joaquín at Welttisch after all.
In the last few days, quite a lot has happened again. On Monday, Joaquín brought us 90 kg of coffee – and today another 30 kg of parchment coffee. Together with the first delivery, we now have around 160 kg of parchment coffee from Joaquín. Of course, the same amount won't remain after hulling, sorting, exporting, and roasting. According to our current calculations, this corresponds to approximately 80 kg of roasted coffee that will eventually arrive with you in Germany.

Why we still have to calculate precisely
We are currently using the samples to test the so-called "rendimiento" of his coffee – that is, how much exportable coffee actually remains from the parchment coffee after processing. Depending on the preparation method, coffee can lose varying amounts of weight and volume. It's important for us to know this precisely, as it's how we fairly calculate how much we pay Joaquín for his coffee.

We continue to pay Joaquín 50% more than the current price in Colombia. ❤️ Because right now, his work should be especially valuable to him.
And Joaquín wants to continue.
Something that particularly pleased us: Joaquín told us that he would be happy to continue producing and supplying coffee for Welttisch in the future. So perhaps his story with you won't end with this first edition. But we don't want to make that decision alone.
