Experience an authentic and unique coffee tour in the coffee zone of Colombia
The coffee tour ..
Have you ever had the pleasure of going on a coffee tour? Maybe even a coffee tour in Colombia?
No matter how many coffee tours you have been on, we are not going too far out on a limb when we say:
You have definitely never experienced anything like this before!
On a classic coffee tour, you are shown the respective coffee plantation. Sometimes more interactive, sometimes less. If you're lucky, you get to try the coffee from the respective coffee farm at the end. A nice experience. But aren't you missing something?
With our "Experiencia Cafetera" we want to help you immerse yourself deeply in the Colombian coffee culture. To experience what really lies behind a good coffee. And at the end there is a very special reward: you can take your own, homemade coffee home with you.
How does it work?
-
1. Overnight stay on a real coffee plantation
The whole experience lasts 2 full days.
So that you can fully immerse yourself in Colombia's coffee culture, you will spend the night on a real, traditional coffee plantation. Don't worry, you won't have to sleep in a hammock or in overcrowded quarters. On our finca "La Macarena" you will be well accommodated in a cozy room with a beautiful view.
-
2nd Tour Coffee Cultivation
On the first day, we will take you on a tour of our coffee plantation "La Macarena". We grow coffee there on a green meadow from scratch.
You can learn from our coffee farmers how the coffee plants are grown and cared for. We will show you the process from the seed to the finished coffee plant. At the end, you can show what you have learned and plant a coffee plant yourself!
-
3. The coffee harvest
Then you'll head up into the mountains in a Willys, the traditional jeep from Colombia's coffee region. We'll take you to the farm of a coffee farmer friend. There you'll get some refreshments and can eat lunch with the family. As a welcome and basically every time in between, you'll get a "tinto campesino", the typical coffee in the countryside.
Then it's time to harvest the coffee. You pick the best cherries you can find and bring your harvest down with you.
-
4. The processing
When you return with your harvest, it's time to process the coffee. You'll experience how the processing works on a coffee plantation, from the harvested cherry to the coffee bean.
Finally, you take the results of your harvest back with you in the form of coffee beans and we end an eventful day with a picturesque view on the Finca "La Macarena". You can end the evening however you like. One option, for example, is a Colombian BBQ.
-
5. The final steps of the coffee
Now you have experienced the coffee process on the coffee plantations. It is time for the finishing touches. The coffee beans still have to be processed until they become green raw coffee.
And finally, one of the most exciting tasks awaits you: you become a roasting master and make your own coffee. We'll show you the basics and you'll roast your coffee however you like. At the end, you'll pack your homemade coffee in a professional bag with your own label.
-
6. The Coffee Ceremony
Secure your place now!Something is still missing to complete the experience..
Tasting the coffee. Because there's nothing like trying it!
In the idyllic setting of the coffee plantation, you will learn how professionals taste coffee. And how coffee is prepared optimally, how factors such as the degree of grinding influence the preparation, etc.
What else can you experience on a coffee plantation in Colombia?
-
A connection with nature
Located in the middle of the Andean mountains, you can connect with nature at "La Macarena". From a hammock or during a hike through the countryside, you can listen to nature: the rustling of the wind in the leaves of the trees, the chirping of the many species of birds and the gurgling of the water from a small stream that runs through the finca. If you get tired of the peace and quiet, there are rivers and waterfalls waiting to be explored!

Colombia Culinary
When are you closer to the typical dishes of a country than when a local cook prepares dishes that have been passed down from generations to generations from her family? With fresh ingredients, directly from the neighbours' farms and the farm's own finca.
Or become a star in the kitchen yourself. You can put your cooking skills to the test on a brick firewood oven, as is typical on rural Colombian fincas. Fueled with local and fresh ingredients. As always:
Everything is possible, it is in your hands..
-
Daily fresh & regional coffee
Caffeine levels are rising!
If there is one thing on a coffee plantation, it is of course coffee, so you can drink as much coffee as you want.
And let’s be honest: how often in life do you get the chance to enjoy such a fresh coffee?
You are sitting right at the source.
